This fall Zoe moved from the Rec soccer league to the town's Travel Soccer program. She's on the U12 team, missing the cut off for the U10 team by two days (and the town didn't have enough girls to form a U11 team). So there have been a lot more practices, a lot more games and of course more travel to neighboring towns but not as much as I thought there might be.
Thanks to Paula's nice DSLR and her zoom lens we've more or less become the team's unofficial photographers. The big challenge for me is focusing the zoom lens. Since it is from the days of her manual film SLR Pentax it is manual focus. Combine that with fast-moving girls and just under 10% of the pictures I shoot are usable!
Here is the full set (more to come - we still have a couple of weekends of games left) and below are some of my favorite shots:
I love soccer, it is my favorite sport of all and I always get excited when a new season is about to start, my idol Mia Ham was such a good player and she is the reason why i became a sports bookmaker because she indirectly gave me a job with her good performances that helped USA won the world cup
